Veterinary Receptionist

Full Job Description

 

Compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to provide care to our clients and patients. The ideal candidate has an abiding love for animals and a genuine desire to help their humans. 

Experience in a medical/dental reception role or hospitality role such as server or bartender would translate well to this position.

 

Duties include:

 

· Provide outstanding customer care, endeavouring to exceed client expectations

 

· Welcome and support clients and their pets

 

· Build lasting relationships with clients

 

· Answer and triage client phone calls

 

· Deal with incoming and outgoing emails, faxes, and texts

 

· Schedule appointments

 

· Admit and discharge patients

 

· Accurately perform daily invoicing, cash management and reconciliation

 

· Educate clients and support recommendations on topics such as vaccine schedules, nutrition, etc

 

· Maintain a clean and odour free reception area

 

· Process insurance claims

 

Candidate requirements:

 

· Ability to multitask in a very fast paced environment

 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

· Compassionate and empathetic

 

· Excellent conflict management skills

 

· Possess strong problem solving skills

 

· Is enthusiastic and responsive to coaching and mentorship

 

· Able to work well both independently and as part of a team

 

· Actively participates in personal skill enhancement and continuous learning

 

· Open to learning veterinary skills that will help assist the RVTs and doctors

 

While veterinary clinic experience is not required, it is preferred. Experience with Cornerstone PIMS is also an asset.

 

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

 

Schedule:

 

    10 hour shift

    8 hour shift
